Liz & Ricky’s Bridgewaters Wedding on 11~11~11!!!!

My worlds collided and unlike George Costanza on Seinfeld, I like it!  Liz and I used to teach together at St. Francis School for the the Deaf. I was more than thrilled to learn of her engagement and then ecstatic to hear that she wanted us to photograph it!

I once described Liz as apple pie.  She is an all American beauty with her blonde hair, blue eyes and a beaming smile.  She is smart, funny, sweet and dedicates herself to children who are deaf. It was no wonder that she fell in love with someone just as dedicated to giving back to society, Ricky is a New York City Fireman.

In this first image I love how the American flag was hanging in her parents’ window, a perfect tribute and backdrop for a Veterans Day wedding. And of course, an adorable text the night before the big day!!!

Liz and Ricky created very creative and personal touches for the day, starting with the handmade invitations.

Liz comes out to get her dress buttoned up and Mom was so excited she did a little double fist pump- love!!!

So touching, Liz all dressed up for her wedding looking out the window in the house she grew up in.

While the girls do their thing, on the other side of town Ricky perfects his hair and don’t worry- that’s not his make up on the vanity!

As one of his groomsman said, Ricky looks like an ad for Orange Juice!

Greg captured this wonderful image of Liz arriving at the church.  Look at that smile!!!!

Ricky sees Liz for the first time as his bride, look at THAT smile!

And there she is, escorted by her father.  Liz you look like a princess!

It’s wonderful when Greg and I can team up our images!  Greg was able to get the long shot from the balcony in the back of the church while I was able to get the detail of the same moment at the front of the church.

The proud parents.

Ricky’s sister Erica played their wedding song on the church’s organ- it was incredible and very touching.

Kiss the bride!!!

And then kiss her again!

We left Brooklyn and headed to Manhattan for the reception and were welcomed by these wonderful views!

The Bridal party!

Dorothy, Liz’s sister was amazing at moving things along!  I could use her in every bridal party!

And there it was, the moment I was hoping to get! As we did the bridal party shot list I was panicking a bit as I saw the last minutes of the sun starting to move behind a building.  When the last picture was done I hustled Liz and Ricky to the other side of the pier and with seconds left we got this shot!  Sometimes I get crazy about that last beam of light, but it makes a world of difference.

Liz and Ricky you look sensation with the sunset glow on your happy faces!

LOVEEEEEE that Liz wore orange shoes and Ricky had orange socks!!!!  Such a unique pop of color that was so seasonally appropriate as well!

I can’t help it, I adore the kissing pictures!!!

Nothing like the contrast of the gritty NYC streets and the polished bride and groom.

The Mr. and Mrs.!

The stunning views that greeted the guests at Bridgewaters at the South Street Seaport.

Cupcake perfection!

Between the lights from the city outside to the gorgeous pumpkin lit tables, the whole room was enchanting.

Liz and Ricky collaborated as a team to create this seating chart and guest sign in station!

First dance with a few twist and turns!

A touching speech from Dorothy.

Then a comical one as well.  Here the best man asked for all of Ricky’s house keys to be returned!

It happens at practically every wedding and I always adore this moment. The moment when the bride and groom look down at their new wedding rings.

Liz you are so cute!  And yes, Ricky was the ultimate gentleman!

Both Liz and her Dad and Ricky and his Mom had such big smiles as they shared a special dance together.

Our competition!

Ricky gets the party started with a unique dance move…

…but nothing Liz can’t top with her sassy moves and bright smile!

With over 50 firemen in the house, the dance floor was a very lively place!

The photo booth was a huge hit!

A sweet treat for the road…and let’s just say that if you happened to NOT have one of these, you may have missed one of the greatest moments of the wedding day!!!

Liz and Ricky we wish you a lifetime of big smiles and happiness for your future together!
