About Susannah:

Susannah Gill is an internationally published photographer that has been photographing weddings and families across the US for 14 years now.

She resides in El Dorado Hills, California with her husband Greg, their 8-year-old son Jaxson, their 2 kitties Roxy and Parchino and their dog Makena!

Susannah and her family are recent transplants to California. Before moving to the golden state, she lived in NYC where she attended the art school Pratt Institute and majored in Photography with a minor in Art Education. During her time at Pratt, she traveled abroad to Kenya with the School of International Training. There she focused on a language cultural exchanged program where she lived amongst 4 different tribes and learned Swahili.

With a fascination for language and cultures, upon returning to the states, Susannah started to learn American Sign Language. Her passion for sign language grew and she decided to attend Columbia University and received her masters in Education for the Deaf.

Susannah taught middle school-aged children at St. Francis School for the Deaf in Brooklyn New York. Using digital cameras, she used photography to help the students create real books that were a reflection of their own lives and interests. Her students would use their language arts skills to narrate their images in their books.

While teaching was fascinating for Susannah, her first love was photography and while she taught she also grew her wedding and portrait business on the side. She left teaching when her son was born and focused on doing photography full-time and raising her baby.

Artist Statement:

I have been photographing weddings and families for 14 years and love it!

I am currently photographing weddings in El Dorado Hills, Ca, the Bay, Tahoe and Sacramento regions. But we love to travel and are always willing to adventure so please feel free to ask!

In addition to weddings, I have a photography studio in El Dorado Hills, CA where I photograph newborn babies, milestone baby sessions, headshots and pets!!
