Rachel & Mike’s La Jolla~San Diego, California Engagement Photowalk

Tall, dark and handsome ~ petite, blonde and beautiful. At 6 foot 7 and 5 foot 2 they may have seemed like an unlikely match but when you are in their company it’s clear these two were made for each other!

We started their La Jolla engagement photowalk on the streets outside of Mike’s family beach house then headed down to the gorgeous Windansea beach.

Big wet slippery boulder?  No problem for this spunky bride-to-be in her wedges that perhaps brought her 4 or so inches closer to Mike!

These shoes are amazing, right? If I wore these for 2 feet, I would easily break my neck, forget navigating a rocky sandy beach!
Greg was on his A game this photo shoot, taking opportunities to seek Rachel and Mike out in little crevices amongst the sea and the boulders. Greg’s face was one big smile as this beach was not just a beach but more like one of the pages of his Surfer Magazine come to life!We could have photographed this lovey duo all day in  this dynamic seascape!  (It’s no wonder Rachel has amazing calf muscles!)

Mike had one photo request, to be photographed at the Polynesian-style hut built in the 1940’s by surfers. Legend says it was nicknamed the “Sugar Shack” as it became a place for romantic encounters. Rachel’s stunning engagement ring!The sun started to set and we were gifted with an incredible sunset. It was a beautiful sight looking out over the Pacific with a lineup of eager surfers wishing for one great last ride of the day.And one last kiss- Mike evened out the playing field on this one!

Lastly, a little fun with their fingers to spell out what is so obvious; these two are overflowing with LOVE and we are so excited to photograph their wedding!!!
