Katie & Tommy’s Engagement Photowalk!

When Katie, Tommy and I started discussing their engagement pictures, they said they wanted to go to places that were special to them in the city. There wasn’t a better place to start than the Mandarin Hotel! This is where Tommy planned on proposing to Katie.  He had all the arrangements set and even got Katie there!  But when Katie saw the overly inflated INSANE prices on the menu she insisted on not eating there and that they leave!  Tommy quickly shifted gears and followed her lead, then proposed to Katie in their apartment when they arrived home!! The windows and views there are incredible, hence the menu prices!We then headed underground to the subway and waited for the crowds to leave. I had this photograph idea in my head for years and I just needed the perfect couple to be in it- I knew Tommy and Katie would be it!Ta daaa!  Thanks Katie and Tommy for making the picture in my head become a reality!We got off at the Meat Packing District- full of graffiti, street art and construction- some of the best aspects of this city!  They had this idea of wanting to take a picture that reflects some of their everyday activities, Tommy reading his paper and Katie on her phone. So simple and sweet and I guarantee in years from now their children will love this photograph!  They might even be shocked to see the news printed on paper and the size of Katie’s phone. I wonder what cell phones will be like in 20 years?Tommy had everyone cracking up and the tourist a little worried. The next stop was the Straton Hotel beer garden for a little warm up!  I love how Katie is looking at Tommy in the image on the right. It’s always such a pleasure to work with a couple that is so clearly madly in love with each other!Look what we found in the basement…On to the Highline Park, a great little park that NYC created out of an old train line!Did I mention that these two ran the NYC Marathon?  An amazing feat that they were proud to show off!!Katie and Tommy, I really enjoyed getting to know you better on our Photowalk!  Thanks for taking me to some awesome places!
